Nicola designed a new Courtyard Garden as part of the new restaurant for the Grade 1 listed Levens Hall.
She drew inspiration from the historic garden parterres and topiary with the central water feature designed by Chris Brammall and the outdoor seating as a nod to the box parterres which used to be planted here. The scheme included a mosaic of the Bagot Goat designed by Maggie Howarth.
Nicola’s design for a Beekeepers Garden sponsored by Jonathan Denby and South lakes Hotels was awarded an RHS Silver Gilt medal. This was a great achievement as a first large showgarden and was well received by the judges and the public.
It combined a careful blend of flowers and plants which were attractive to bees around a central Victorian Apiary.
The garden also featured two mosaics designed by Maggie Howarth.
Nicola often draws and illustrates her designs by hand. She uses CAD for her presentations and technical drawings. Below is a selection of gardens and estates around the Lakes and Cumbria.
